Embracing the ‘can is can, cannot also must can’ attitude.
Embracing the Learning Curve
Entering software engineering, I faced a steep learning curve. Through dedication, I familiarised myself with new concepts and languages. While assisting with web development at Timeless Media Enterprise, I enjoyed initial success before the momentum eventually waned. Rather than dwelling on the setback, I viewed it as a valuable learning opportunity and made the decision to further my education in the field of IT.
Transitioning from Business to Tech
Before embarking on my journey into software engineering, my background was rooted in business analytics. Though I found fulfilment in this field, I felt a strong desire to dive deeper into the technical realm. This urge stemmed from my experiences attempting to aid others in their business's digital transformation. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't shake the feeling that I lacked the necessary experience and skills to truly make an impact.
Pursuing Passions Beyond Work
Outside of work, I enjoy archery, hiking, and learning new skills like creating video games. Building virtual worlds allows me to express my creativity and storytelling, bringing joy and exploration to my life. I am excited to see where these passions lead me next.
Academic Growth and Practical Experience
My academic journey, alongside hackathons and client projects, expanded my knowledge and fuelled my passion for tech-based problem-solving. I immersed myself in various tasks across different domains like UI/UX, Front/Back-end development, DevOps, and Product Management. My background in business analytics proved invaluable, allowing me to apply existing knowledge to software engineering, enriching my approach to problem-solving. I even tried start a venture using tech-based solutions to solve sustainability issues.
